Job Description

Executive Business Associate - Office of the Co-Founder and CEO

Reports to: Co-Founder and CEO

Location: 5404 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 1000, Chevy Chase, MD 20815

The Company

Artemis has raised over $10 billion of capital and makes equity and debt investments in real estate across the United States, with a focus on multifamily, industrial, self-storage, manufactured housing, office, retail, hospitality, senior housing, and medical office. Artemis specializes in joint venture partnerships and direct investments.

We are seeking an Executive Business Associate to the Co-Founder and CEO to provide direct research, analysis, and business support to the CEO and the broader organization. The successful candidate will be energized by working alongside and in tandem with a dynamic CEO and a group of performance-driven, collaborative, and diverse colleagues in an entrepreneurial setting. They will be a strong team player with a proactive approach and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done. The Office of the CEO team includes a Chief of Staff, an executive assistant/scheduler, and a corporate events manager.

This on-site role requires strong analytical, research, and written communication skills, excellent time management, and the ability to produce high-quality work on a tight timeline. The position's responsibilities require a candidate to wear many “hats” by acting as a bridge across departments and connecting business problems with solutions. This role will get unique exposure to the investment, operational, and client-facing sides of the business, as well as the CEO's philanthropic and high-profile, confidential public board activities.

The candidate will provide analytical / research reports and strategic management support directly to the CEO, including thought partnership and implementation of strategic initiatives. The candidate should have an interest in the real estate industry (direct experience in real estate not required) and a strong understanding of the broader capital markets. This position involves executing urgent and important priorities across engagements, and exercising discretion and independent judgment as the Executive Business Associate grows to be an advisor to the CEO. This position requires an extensive time investment in line with the CEO.

The position will begin with training, which will include shadowing and assisting team members across functions to learn the business, including but not limited to capital raising, acquisitions, asset management, and operations, to understand the dynamics of the organization. The role is designed to be a 2–3-year rotation that leads to either a Chief of Staff role or other parts of the business (e.g., investor relations, acquisitions, operations, depending on the candidate's interests).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide analytical, business writing and content creation support for the CEO’s daily workflow.
  • Prepare the CEO for all daily engagements through research, writing, and pre-meeting coordination.

  • Attend key meetings and events, including conferences and webinars, with or on behalf of the CEO and ensure the timely completion of action items.
  • Travel with the CEO as needed to facilitate relationship development, capital raising, and new business.
  • Communicate directly with the Capital Raising & Investor Relations team to prepare the CEO for all meetings with existing and prospective investors.
  • Attend investment committee meetings, portfolio management, and weekly acquisition briefings with the CEO.
  • This position involves executing urgent and important priorities across engagements and exercising discretion and independent judgment as a reliable partner and advisor to the CEO.
  • Work with the CEO’s Executive Assistant / Scheduler to manage the CEO’s priorities by meticulously tracking all work streams, ensuring timely preparation of materials and reports, and distributing follow-up.
  • Work with the CEO’s team to design standard operating procedures for the CEO and the Immediate Office and implement new technologies to improve operational efficiency and efficacy.
  • Manage CEO projects and initiatives as directed.
  • Advise the CEO on business matters as appropriate with a high level of maturity and discretion.

External Relationship Management

  • Craft C-suite-level presentations and talking points for various speaking engagements.
  • Collaborate with external partners to coordinate the CEO's responsibilities at events.
  • Work with the CEO on the execution of oversight, fundraising, and programmatic responsibilities for the Foundation Chairperson role and other board membership(s)
