General Production Worker

We are seeking a dedicated General Production Worker to operate and manage various systems within our manufacturing process, ensuring product compliance and quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of FDA-GMP and SQF standards as they relate to manufacturing areas.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate the mix system, extrusion system, dryer, cooler, and transfer system.
• Adhere to FDA-GMP and SQF standards to ensure proper program execution.
• Perform daily start-up, shut down, and clean-up of the extrusion operation.
• Maintain minor ingredient feeders in a running-full state and record lot numbers.
• Operate heating/cooling systems, liquid tanks, pumps, meters, and understand HMI and PLC functions.
• Clean, maintain, and set-up extrusion dies and knives; operate cooler/dryer and transfer systems.
• Monitor product quality and report deviations to the Production Supervisor or Quality Assurance.
• Ensure housekeeping of machine and plant area, including sweeping, trash removal, and machine cleaning.
• Prepare for next day's production and finalize paperwork accurately and concisely.

Essential Skills

• Basic knowledge of hand tools
• Mechanical aptitude and ability
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Extruder or machine operating experience
• Computer/PLC experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a food environment is preferred
• Ability to work independently and make judgments within provided guidelines

Work Environment

Work in a tempered climate environment with night shifts from 7pm to 7am, Monday through Thursday. Training is provided during night shifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of KANSAS CITY, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00/hr.
