Job Details Job Type: Classified Job Classification: 5337 - Events Manager Salary Grade: 14 Pay Range: Hiring Range: $60,487 - $72,585 Annually Full Range: $60,487 - $84,682 Annually Application Review Date: 05/23/2025 Job Summary The Events Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating program goals, policies, and contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing budgets, representing the program in the community, fostering relationships, and overseeing staff, public relations, and grants. Essential Functions Coordinate and oversee county events, including scheduling and logistics. Develop program goals, policies, and procedures; establish performance plans. Negotiate and administer contracts and agreements for county events. Manage and evaluate program activities for success and compliance. Develop and administer the program's budget, forecast finances, and identify funding sources. Review reports and implement improvements as needed. Represent the program in the community, manage public relations, and engage with organizations. Monitor contract compliance and take corrective actions. Build relationships with departments, agencies, and organizations. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies. Supervise staff, provide leadership, training, and evaluations. Prepare proposals, grants, and PR materials. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or related field plus two years of responsible program administration experience, or two years with Pima County as a Program Coordinator or similar role. Relevant education/experience may be substituted. Must document education and experience in application; resumes alone are not sufficient. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's in sports, entertainment, venue management, parks & recreation, or related field. Experience in multi-faceted event planning and management at local, regional, and national levels. Experience managing events for up to 10,000 participants. Knowledge of budgets, supplies, and equipment management. Supervisory experience with staff training and evaluations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Windows 10, and scheduling systems. Additional Requirements Valid driver license required at application and appointment; AZ license preferred. Background checks required; some positions may require additional vetting.
