Remedy is thrilled to have been selected to support a distinguished logistics/supply chain company as they look to add a strategic Director of Fleet Operations to their dynamic team. This is a high-impact role that will oversee the organization's vehicle fleet, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance. This role involves developing and implementing fleet policies, coordinating maintenance and repairs, managing vehicle acquisition and disposal, and optimizing utilization. This role also ensures compliance with regulations, drives sustainability initiatives, and collaborates with other departments to align fleet strategies with organizational goals. Job Title: Director of Fleet Operations

Job Type: Full-time/Direct Hire/Salaried

Schedule: M-F, 8am - 4:30pm with hybrid flexibility to allow for one day/week remote

Pay: $100 - 175k, depending upon prior expertise

Travel : As needed to various business locations across North America

Key responsibilities for this Director of Fleet Operations will include :

  • Oversee the sales, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles.
  • Provide guidance on the scheduling, dispatch operations, and vendor relationships for vehicle services (fuel, maintenance, and other services).
  • Evaluate, purchase, lease, and dispose of vehicles to ensure fleet is operating at an optimum level.
  • Develop and implement safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs.
  • Coordinate daily operations of the transportation network, including safety, compliance, equipment, and staff.
  • Monitor transportation costs, quality of service levels, and performance metrics to identify and resolve issues.
  • Partner with business leaders to implement best in class processes and systems.
  • Maintain fleet vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and implement performance monitoring systems

We're actively seeking Fleet Operations leaders with the following background profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field (required).
  • Minimum of 10 years of management experience in fleet operations (required).
  • Broad knowledge supply chain management with an innate ability to develop relevant and effective fleet strategy
  • Safety and preventative maintenance program management experience.
  • Expertise in vehicle acquisition, maintenance, utilization, and disposal, with strong knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and fleet-specific regulations.
  • Proves expertise managing budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing efficiency.
  • Strong ability to lead teams, negotiate vendor contracts, and partner with business leaders to drive operational excellence.
