The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. This listing is for potential future affiliate faculty needs for the Anthropology degree program. Responsibilities include teaching introductory courses in Anthropology and other areas based on department needs and applicant’s field of study. Classes may be morning, afternoon, evening, or online. Duties include teaching assigned classes in person or online, preparing course materials and lesson plans, grading student work, providing timely feedback, addressing student questions, advising, and providing academic support. Instruction must align with course content and learning objectives, and comply with university policies. Candidates must be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population. Required qualifications include a Master’s degree in Anthropology or related field. Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. in Anthropology or related field plus teaching experience. Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired on a per credit hour basis, usually semester-by-semester, and are not eligible for benefits. Teaching assignments depend on budget and enrollment. Candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire. Salary is based on credit hours assigned at a rate determined by university policy.
